Coblands Nurseries were founded in 1963 growing a wide range of shrubs, herbaceous, grasses, ferns and trees in the ‘coblands’ of Kent. This we have continued to do, providing a service dedicated to the trade customer, through our nurseries and 4 trade plant centres.

The production nursery extends over 120 acres on a number of sites in and around Tonbridge, growing approximately a million plants at any one time.

This website along with our retail plant centre at Reading, now brings this wealth of knowledge and expertise to the general public.

Coblands strives to be a responsible grower and is continuing to find ways to demonstrate its environmental awareness:

the use of electric vehicles on nursery production

the use of biological pest controls, green bio-active fertilisers, and a reduction in the usage of peat

controlled use of herbicides only when no other means of weed control are available

Our Tonbridge site collects or recycles in excess of 95% of its water usage throughout the year, ensuring we minimise further our impact on the environment.
